I learned this one from the Silat arts of Indonesia and Malaysia. Throughout the years I've used it in real world situations, challenge matches, and full contact matches and can say, it's incredibly effective for stopping people. I've also taught it to many people (special security, prison corrections offices, bouncers, law enforcement, military, etc.) who have to deal with real world violence on a regular basis, and they've found it to be incredibly effective as well.
